AFADJATO AND TAGBO FALLS
We’ll commence the tour by driving from Accra through towns and villages to Bonwire. Inspired by the spider, kente weaving has been the occupation of the people of Bonwire and are well-known in Ghana for the production of quality and luxurious kente. The leader of this group will take us through the process of weaving the traditional and most cherished cloth in Ghana. From here, we’ll proceed to Adanwomase, another kente weaving village for a cocoa tour to learn more about Ghana’s main cash crop by visiting a cocoa farm. After this tour, a local delicacy awaits us in a local restaurant popularly known for their local recipes.
Subsequent to this, we’ll proceed to Ntonso to learn more about the Adinkra printmaking. Adinkra is Akan symbols drawn in ink and used mostly by the Ashanti people of Ghana. Their representations and meanings are likened to fables and are used to bestow wisdom and knowledge. Ntonso, a small town near Kumasi is one of the only places in the world where the creation and use of Adinkra symbols are still practised and taught.
From here, we’ll proceed to Golden Gate Hotel to check into our room, enjoy dinner and nightlife in Kumasi before retiring to bed.
