We will depart for a scenic drive down the coastal savannah of Accra’s plains in the early morning.
Our first stop will be Wli Waterfalls, Ghana’s highest waterfall and West Africa’s second highest. In order to reach the waterfall, we will first cross the beautiful Adome Bridge over Lake Volta, the world’s largest manmade lake. The Adome Bridge was built on the order of Ghana’s first president to link Ghana and the Volta Region to unify both regions as a single country.
Once we reach the Wli Waterfall, we’ll hike through the luscious Agumatsa Forest reserve where you will cross a single river 11 times to get to the fall. The Wli Waterfalls are about 1600 ft and go down to a plunge pool where you can swim.
After some fun time in the water, we will lunch at the Wli Restaurant. An hour after, we will take you to Tafi Atome; a village where the Mona Monkeys reside. These monkeys are regarded as sacred and are therefore protected from harm. You will get the chance to see these monkeys up close in great numbers as they live in their natural forest habitat.
After a couple of hours of exploring, we’ll head back to Accra!
