Overview
An unforgettable tour of walking through the cool dry evergreen forest to the caves to see relics of old Shai settlements in the reserve and a visit to Ada Foah, a town on the southeast coast of Ghana, where the Volta River meets the Atlantic Ocean.
Tour Itinerary
Day 01
VISIT TO SHAI HILLS
We will commence the day with breakfast and depart through the Accra - Tema motorway to Shai Hills. Shai Hills Resource Reserve is about an hour north of Accra bordering the Akosombo road. This makes this location one of the closest wildlife viewing areas to Accra and one of the most easily accessible in Ghana. With the help of a site guide, we’ll drive through the forest reserve and hike the mountains as well. This forest reserve contains animals like baboons, zebra, antelope, among others.
Subsequent to this hike, we’ll proceed to have lunch at Afrikiko resort which will be awesome as we enjoy our local delicacy with a view of the Volta River. Cruising on the Volta River continues after lunch to the hydroelectric dam at Akosombo. After this exciting moments, we’ll proceed to Ada Foah where we’ll cruise on the Volta river to Maranatha island, check into our room, enjoy dinner and nightlife on the island before retiring to bed.

Day 02
VISIT TO THE ESTUARY AND THE CROCODILE POND
After breakfast, we’ll cruise to the crocodile island for a tour on the island. After this adventure, we’ll cruise to the estuary where the Volta river meets the Atlantic ocean. From here, we’ll tour the rum village and interact with the local. Subsequent to this, we’ll cruise back to Maranatha island for lunch, after which we’ll engage in different sporting activities with the locals like volley, soccer, swimming among others with a mixture of local Ghanaian kinds of music on the background. These activities will go on till late in the afternoon and depart to Accra.
