We will depart early in the morning after breakfast from your hotel/guest house for the forest reserve. The journey to Shai Hills will take an hour and thirty minutes. Once we reach there, we will take you for a game drive to see monkeys, bushbuck, antelopes and duikers. Shai Hills is also a great location for bird watching, so you will also get to witness many local and migrating birds as well. After a delicious lunch, you will be taken to the historic caves where the Se or Shai people resided during the Stone Age, all the way till 1892 when British troops forced them to move to other parts of the region. There you will see how these caves were used as fortresses against enemies, whereas the surrounding environment was carved as a watch-point for protection against approaching attackers and enemies. We will spend around five hours here, after which we will depart for Accra for a one and half hour journey, allowing you to reminisce the wonderful experience you had at Shai Hills.
