Tour Itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Accra, Ghana

A tour guide from Can Do Land Tours will welcome you at the Kotoka International Airport. You’ll be picked up and taken to the Central Hotel, where you will participate in a traditional welcoming ceremony by giving water. After that, you’ll have a 20-minute orientation after which you’ll be taken to your room. Dinner will be served and you will be allowed to rest on your first night in Ghana.
Day 02

Accra City Tour

We will depart after an early breakfast to explore the vibrant bustling city of Accra. Our first stop will be the Independence Square where the Independence Arch is situated. You’ll also get to see the inscription on the arch Freedom and Justice, AD 1957. We will then proceed to the final resting place of Ghana’s first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. After paying respects at his mausoleum, you will be taken to the W.E.B Du Bois Centre for Pan-Africanism where you will learn about Ghana’s culture and our connection with the spirit of Pan-Africanism. After we’ve had lunch, we’ll proceed to the Arts Centre where you’ll see a beautiful display of handiworks from around West Africa. We will then return to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Day 03

Kumasi City Tour

We will depart for Kumasi after an early morning breakfast. We will first visit the Manhyia Palace Museum, Manhyia being the first seat of the King of the Ashantis and home to the Ashantehene. Here, you will obtain in-depth information about the lives and legacies of the Ashantis. You will then be taken to the Prempeh II Museum, located in the National Culture Centre. Here you will learn more about the history and culture of the Ashantis. You will also witness a beautiful traditional performance, by the Kumasi Dancing group. Then we will return to the hotel for dinner.
Day 04

Fiema Monkey Sanctuary and Kintampo Waterfalls

After having a scrumptious breakfast, we will depart for the Fiema-Boabeng Monkey Sanctuary in the Brong Ahafo Region by going through the Forest Zone. The sanctuary is home to the Campbell’s Mona Monkeys and Geoffrey’s Pied Colobus monkeys. After encountering with the monkeys, you’ll explore the forest and discover numerous types of butterflies and birds. After lunch, you’ll be taken to the Kintampo Waterfalls. Made in three stages, these falls also have a safe pool which is perfectly deep enough and safe for swimming. Then you will be taken to the Prince of Peace Guest house at Kintampo.
Day 05

Kintampo Waterfalls – Mole National Park

After an early departure from the Prince of Peace Guest House, we’ll make our way further up north towards the Mole National Park. Lunch will be had during our travel time. Upon arrival at the Mole Lodge, you will be checked-in and given time to relax and lounge by the lodge’s swimming pool. Then we will have dinner and stay overnight
Day 06

Mole National Park - Wechiau Hippopotamus Sanctuary

From the Mole Lodge, we will embark on a morning trekking expedition into the park to see some of West Africa’s most significant species such as the elephants, waterbucks, antelopes and more. After lunch is done, we’ll head back to the lodge and journey to the Wechiau Hippopotamus Sanctuary. Here, you’ll also get to see various birds in the woodland savanna. You will then check-in to the Wechiau Lodge where you’ll have dinner and rest.
Day 07

Wechiau Hippopotamus Sanctuary

After we’ve had breakfast, we’ll trek along the many hiking trails and see bats, hedgehogs, chameleons and even pythons along the way. We’ll then go on a River Safari on the Black Volta. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to see violet Turacos, Malachite Kingfishers, Vervet monkeys and hippos. After lunch, we’ll depart and head South to Kumasi and check-in at the Golden Gate Hotel, where we’ll have dinner and then rest.
Day 08

Ashanti Village Tour

After a hearty breakfast, we’ll head to Asuofia to see how beadmaking is done. From there, we’ll proceed to Adanwomasa and Bonwire to learn all about Kente weaving. Then we’ll visit Atonso to learn even more about Adinkra Cloth making. During all this, you’ll also have time to interact with the local potters and brass smiths. After we’ve had lunch, we’ll head to the traditional fetish shrine for a brief visit. From there, we’ll go to the Kejetia market, which is West Africa’s largest open air market. We’ll return to the Golden Gate Hotel for lunch and rest.
Day 09

Kumasi – Accra

We’ll check out from the hotel and begin our journey down south to Accra after breakfast. We will stop at the Lina Door for a scrumptious lunch. We will then continue to Accra. We’ll also stop at Labadi Beach so guests can relax and stretch. Afterwards, we’ll check in at the Central Hotel and have dinner and rest.
Day 10

Departure from Accra

After breakfast, you’ll be given time to shop for souvenirs at the Arts Centre. After this, your tour guide will help you check out of the hotel, and travel to the Kotaka International Airport where they will help you safely check-in for departure.
