Overview
This historical city tour will include a visit to Du Bois Center, the Independence Square, the mausoleum of Ghana’s first president and hero Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and a tour of the oldest town in Accra, Jamestown.

0830 HOURS TO 1120 HOURS
Accra City Tour
We will pick you up from your hotel and proceed to W.E.B Du Bois Center, the memorial place of the Pan-African American, where we will learn about the history of Pan-Africanism. Linked to the memories of Pan-Africanism, we will proceed to Independence Square. As a significant location in history, Independence Square is where Dr Kwame Nkrumah, one of the greatest Pan-Africanists proclaimed the freedom of Ghana and connected it to the independence and complete liberation of Africa.

1130 HOURS TO 1330 HOURS
Pan - Africanism
Towing the path of Pan-Africanism, we will continue to Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum. There, we will pay tribute to Ghana’s first president and the First Lady of Ghana, Fathia Nkrumah. We will also have the opportunity to browse through his collection of books and items that the first president used. After absorbing the rich history of our first president and taken enough pictures, lunch awaits us at Osikan restaurant, well known for their local recipes.

1340 HOURS TO 1510 HOURS
James Town
Right after lunch, we’ll visit Jamestown, which is the oldest town in Accra. A site guide will give us a history of the lighthouse, Jamestown and lead us on a walking tour of the oldest town. We’ll visit Brazil house and the Ussher Fort.

1530 HOURS TO 1630 HOURS
Shopping
Next, we will take you to the Arts Center, the biggest arts and crafts centre in Ghana where the collection depicts the vibrant diversity of Ghanaian culture through paintings, woodworks, sculptures and other forms of art that carry messages of the Ghanaian people. There will be an opportunity to purchase some souvenirs and we’ll drop you off at your hotel.
